Privacy policy

Mycelium (myceliumplay.com) is a free browser game made by an independent developer. This page explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have.
No accounts
You can play without creating an account or giving an email address.
Information stored in your browser
To remember your preferences, the game saves a few things in your own browser (using "local storage"): the name you typed for online games, your last menu choices (map, size, bots, difficulty), and whether sound is muted. This stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Online games
- When you play online, the name you choose is sent to our game server so the other players in your match can see it. Pick a nickname, not your real name.
- During a game, the server receives your moves (where you click, which abilities you use) so it can share them with the other players. This information only exists while the game runs and is not saved afterwards.
- Our hosting provider (Render) may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and the time of requests, to operate and protect the service.
Advertising and cookies
We show ads provided by Google AdSense to keep the game free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings.
- You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services on Google's partner sites page.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for your consent before ads use cookies, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy message shown on the site.
Children
Mycelium is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you. Apart from what is described above, the game does not store personal data about you. For ad-related data, use Google's settings linked above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
